In the Central Highland of Bolivia, farmers developed a system of communal rotation that includes fallow for 3 -23 years because the soils are poor in nutrients. Native plants such as Baccharis incarum and other pioneers species colonize these áreas. The study was located in Aroma province in La Paz. We identify the fallow plots and mycorrhiza population was evaluated. The number of MVA spores from rhizospheric soil showed an increment as increment the fallow years. Glomus, Gigaspora and Scutellospora were identified as principal MVA fungus on those soils
