Abstract. Present report shows update inventory of diversity in forest ecosystems of the western border of the Putumayo with purpose of knowing his useful structure, diversity and some useful plants and their incorporation to productive systems determining its ethnobotanical potential. Results show that of the collected and identified species, 26,62% wild shrubs species, 8,97% shrubs, 33,97% cultivated areas and mosaic of natural vegetation, 4,45% of savanna, 20,83% in pastures. The ecological indices were: Diversity (Shannon=2,8124), Dominance (Simpson=0.1141) Richness (Margalef=7.4282). The deforestation rate was estimated in -0.08%. Mixed crops and pastures agro ecosystems prevail in transformed ecosystems. Participation of local population in management and preservation of biodiversity was extra evaluated. Whole plants species find was 70 with dominate of 55 species. This border is a conservation place a large diversity of both wild and domestic plants. It determines that Amazon border is complex system with diversity of plant species relatively conserved across its enjoyment.
