Portraits of two recently deceased intellectuals. The German anthropologist Jürgen Riester (1941-2019), pioneer of scientific anthropological work among the indigenous peoples of the lowlands of eastern Bolivia, at a time characterized by intolerance, which decreed their expulsion from the region as a subverter and communist. In the development of his work he collected rites, traditions and customs, transmitted orally. This work, as a whole, constitutes his legacy. Rodolfo Pinto Parada (1940-2019), studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Oruro (UTO), excelled in the study of culture, history, anthropology and archeology and cultivated Beni literature and formed a very complete library of Beni.
