RAMIREZ BEDOYA, Ana María. ACCESS TO INFORMATION, A FUNDAMENTAL PILLAR IN THE REPARATION OF THE VICTIMS OF THE COLOMBIAN ARMED CONFLICT. Rev. Fuent. Cong. [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.64, pp. 31-36. ISSN 1997-4485.

Archives are part of our life, they are the living memory of society and the place where citizens can find information to solve different types of problems; among them, learn information about their loved ones who have lost due to violence; To achieve this, it is necessary to enforce the following Colombian laws: Law 1712 of 2014, which establishes some fundamental principles related to the principle of good faith and the quality of access to information, thus beginning to generate a culture of transparency to meet the needs of users; 1755 of 2015 which is a statutory law to issue the rights of petition or rights of access to information. In addition, in the Political Constitution of Colombia, article 74 provides guidelines on the right that all citizens have to access information, except in the cases established by law, thus giving greater legal tools to citizens to be able to claim their rights. The existence of these norms must be accompanied by the implementation of practices and protocols in institutions that guarantee access and give families and individuals victims of the armed conflict the opportunity to find out what has happened to their loved ones; thus relieving their anguish, a little and contributing significantly to the emotional and administrative repair of those affected.
