Abstract Experience report on the application of risk tools in audiovisual production and storage environments of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), Laboratory of Image and Sound and University TV of Recife. With the objective of presenting a logical tool for risk management and decision making, as well as identifying the main risk factors in the information, technology and organizational structure. It is an exploratory and bibliographical research, using the risk identification model of ISO 31000. A questionnaire of 25 questions was applied, covering the internal environment rules and identifying the installed risks. Among the results, we have applied the Pareto Diagram indicating that approximately 80% of the risk factors come from 20% of the causal factors, concentrated in the structures of the analyzed environments. Thus, it is understood the use of tools to maintain a digital preservation and mitigation of risks that will compromise future access to memory archives, contributing to the development of new knowledge in the area of audiovisual collections management.
