    Abstract

BUSTAMANTE PACO, Sikorina. State of the art of user studies in Bolivian Public Archives Basis for the design of information products and services. Rev. Fuent. Cong. [online]. 2018, vol.12, n.56, pp. 26-33. ISSN 1997-4485.

ABSTRACT The main objective of this paper is to present an advance of research on the state of the art of user studies in public archives in Bolivia, both in archival and documentary methodology and theorizing, in such a way as to allow us to evaluate a better application of user studies in archives. It also presents a reflection on research in relation to information users in archives, reaching to the conclusion that user studies is a fundamental tool to support the design of information products and services as well as for the achievement of archives' goals, and therefore to the institutional memory, to achieve the satisfaction of the information needs of both internal and external users. Its application in the archival field is relatively recent and the bibliography is scarce, so in general there is a lack of knowledge about it and, consequently, its implementation in the archives.
