In 1970, the publishing of "La Revolucion India", the major anticolonialist book of the indianist writer FaustoReinaga, gave rise to varied opinions according to the 'racial' origin of those who read it. Its immediate impact occured in a background of discrimination towards the indians, high illiteracy and political instability related to the Cold War; but it was also the time when the indianist-katarist movement took shape. A press article, written at that time, reflects the discriminatory opinion about the book: its author thought the work would not be succesful just because the indians were illiterate. The work has nevertheless become the 'bible' of indians and non indians.
