OPORTO ORDONEZ, Luis. History of libraries in mexico. Rev. Fuent. Cong. [online]. 2013, vol.7, n.29, pp. 24-48. ISSN 1997-4485.
Synthesis of the history of the libraries in Bolivia, from the preHispanic past, passing by the colony in which remarkable particular libraries existed. Many contributed to the independence revolution. In the republican era, Marshal Andrés of Santa Cruz, makes a space in his agenda signed by the war against the Peruvian-Bolivian Confederation, for the promulgation of the decree of the 30 of June of 1838, of creation of the Public Libraries in the national territory. The public and deprived libraries break through in all the levels of the society: in the ministries of the executive authority, religious orders, universities, municipal governments, military institutions, mining companies and unions, children centers, and others. It's included a reference on the decimal classification system and the Argentine cooperation in which the figures of Raul Cortazar and Victor Penna stand out. Exists a notice on the National Library of Bolivia and the Library of the Congress (present Legislative Assembly Plurinacional). Another chapter analyzes the organizational actions of the librarians, from the first organization of the Cultural Centre of Librarians in 1948, to the constitution of the Union of Professionals in Sciences of the Information. A information on the public policies completes this review, wich have a high point in the promulgation of Law 366 of Book and the Reading "Oscar Alfaro".
