    Abstract

    Evaluation Documents in Latin America Project took place over four years, with the endorsement of the International Council on Archives and the support of several national, university, municipal and international institutions. The research team consisted of twenty professionals from eight countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, México, Perú and Uruguay Its aim was to study this subject from different aspects on a Latin American regional perspective. We worked on five issues: Terminology programs, samplig, digital document evaluation, and approaches, criteria, methods for evaluating archival documents. The particularity of the work was the methodology: from the practice to the theory, to see íf what we do respond to a particular theory. Concrete results are trilingual glossary of 52 terms; basic academic program, with the corresponding literature and its foundations; Sample Forms for assessing documents and three records; List of criteria for sampling; List of Guidance for developing assessment policies on digital documents. The anide is a summary of the final publication of the project, published in print and on CD.
