The present article, corresponds to a documentary review on various sources, among which are written by renowned archivists and historians such as: Sara Gonzales, Fernando Mayorga, Carlos Alberto Zapata among others and the visit to the web sites of various institutions as file Genera of the Colombia nation, de la Salle University, the University of Quindio and the University of pedagogy and technology of Colombia. En cuanto a its structure, is divided into chapters for ease of the reader in the following manner: 1) introduction and background; (2) The files in the Colonial period; (3) The General Archives of the nation; (4 () Republican file: 5) archival education; (6) Professional associations; (7) Archival legislation; (8) The figures highlighted in the national archival and conclusions. In short, it is not a novel text in itself, but if it is a synthesis of sources and documents scanned by the author, with addition comments and who’s own positions I compile and where.
