    Abstract

OPORTO ORDONEZ, Luis. ZARATE, THE "FEARSOME" WILLKA AND INDIGENOUS REBELLION IN 1899, BY RAMIRO CONDARCO MORALES. Rev. Fuent. Cong. [online]. 2011, vol.5, n.15, pp. 56-62. ISSN 1997-4485.

The Federal war of 1899 faced La Paz against Chuquisaca, who represented the thriving industrial oligarchy of the North against the old landowner class located in the South. Ramiro Condarco Morales discusses this episode of national history, influencing his analysis on the role that played the Aymara armies commanded by Pablo Zárate, the "fearsome" Willka. In that context, deals with the life of the indigenous leader, betrayed by Colonel José Manuel Pando and the Liberals of La Paz.
