As independent cultural managers of the city of El Alto, three friends who share their interest in reading, organized in 2005 a publishing project (cultural, social and community) non-profit called "Yerba Mala Cartonera", for the purpose of literary production, throughout the book, reaching massively available to readers, so democratize culture. The novelty is that these "cartoneros" books by its originality and creativity are cut, painted and bound in traditional way, but without neglecting the aesthetic taste. Through its "Cartonero manifest", they agree the cardboard and paper as raw material and recyclable permanent renewal, not disposable material for the production of publications and contribute to environmental awareness.
