The COMET-LA project in Argentina is concentrated on the southwest of the Buenos Aires Province ranging from the Bahía Blanca Estuary to the outer coastal área between the estuary and Monte Hermoso. The objective COMET-LA is to propose community-based sustainable management and governance models in marine and coastal systems with special emphasis on aspects of artisanal fisheries and tourism. The aim of this paper is to present the changes that have been observed on the coast directly related to the COMET-LA project. Although the effects of climate variability are important, they are less than the anthropogenic effects.
