Abstract
ORTIZ-GUERRERO, Cesar; OCAMPO-DIAZ, Natalia; AVENDANO URIBE, Bryann and ANDRES RAMOS, Pablo. Exploración de los factores determinantes del cambio en la gobernanza de los sistemas socio-ecológicos del Pacífico colombiano. Revista Virtual REDESMA [online]. 2014, vol.7, n.1, pp. 13-24. ISSN 1995-1078.
The literature on governance of social-ecological systems has emphasized the need to better understand the intrinsic characteristics and properties of these interrelated structures, such as their dynamic behavior and capacity to adapt to change. However, the analysis of the factors that determine the orientation of their adaptation and change processes has been glossed over. This article joins this discussion by: 1) applying the concept of governance in the context of social-ecological systems, and 2) identifying the principal factors that foster change and adaptation in the governance structure of four social-ecological systems in collective afro-Colombian territories: ethnicization, macro-projects, population change, traditional ecological knowledge, illegal extractive activities and climate change.
Keywords : rural governance; socioecological systems; territorio; black communities; climate change.
