    Resumen

AGUILUZ IBARGUEN, Maya. Excepcionalidad de la violencia. Rev. Umbr. Cs. Soc. [online]. 2012, n.24, pp. 219-250. ISSN 1994-4543.

Currently, to reflect an exceptional Mexican reality some studies are applying the hard concept of State of Exception (from the re-visitation made by Giorgio Agamben). This means the pre-valence of one vector in the social and political field, that is: to produce some lives as 'bare life'. Nevertheless, taking for granted that today this perspective on biopolitics is central for understanding the ambivalent nature of the State formations, this article focuses on the articulation of exceptionality with the atrocities as a currency of the ordinary Mexican culture that has shaped an imaginary where mourning is interdicted, and the depredatory violence has colonized "the margins of the State" (Veena Das and Deborah Poole).

Palabras llave : Exception; State formation; predatory violence; México.
