This work analyzes the impact of the general level of "relative" prices on the profitability of production in the agricultural sector, taking into account some indicators like international prices, domestic prices, the role of the exchange rate and the tariff protection measures towards the productive sector. To achieve this purpose we support it by the proposals made by Roger Norton (2004) on policies that constitute in incentives for the producers and on the CEPAL studies on the issue of poverty, in the empirical part, in some studies about the issue of prices of main food products in Bolivia.
