MARTINEZ VALDEZ, Alejandro  y  CHUNGARA CONDORI, Jesús Jorge. Determine the glycemia and bmiin students of the faculty of health sciences - 2010 uto management. REVISTA MEDICIS [online]. 2010, n.6, pp. 11-14. ISSN 1818-5223.

Blood glucose test was conducted to 200 students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, showing that 2% had hyperglycemia valué greater than 140mg/dl. Post prandial. The most affected sex with hyperglycemia is the male with two of the three cases (66.6%), the most affected group are those of <20 years, 20-40 years and> 40 years each presented a case of hyperglycemia, taking into account as normal valué <140 mg / di and> 200 mg / di as a valué for post prandial diabetes. We performed the analysis of BMI and found that 2% of people carne to achieve Grade 1 obesity, 75% of cases of obesity become Grade 1 male and 30 were overweight (15%). We applied the BMI chart ASÍAN, finding that 45 people had Overweight (23%), 32 carne to be obese (23%) in relation to the BMI table Sedd 20001 can see that the degree of obesity and overweight are much higher in the table applied by Asians. For all the above we can show that a high percentage of overweight and future risk of developing type 2 diabetes. In our study we did not get to find cases of diabetes, probably by taking the examination of glucose in a group that is not risk for the disease. But cases have been detected hyperglycemia> 140 mg / di post prandial which are also risk group for diabetes. It is necessary to take preventive action, in order to reduce both blood glucose valúes as BMI, this includes changes in lifestyle, especially diet and exercise. "You do not choose to have diabetes... but if you control it."
