APAZA OTAZO, Lizeth; HUOROCHI MAMANI, Daniel  y  GARCIA MORALES, Freddy V. Oxidative stress and pre-eclampsia. REVISTA MEDICIS [online]. 2009, n.5, pp. 24-29. ISSN 1818-5223.

Preedampsia is a compllcation of human pregnancy is considered as a polymorphic syndrome, because vírtually any tissue and organ system may be affected. Preeclampsia is diagnosed by the appearance of hypertension and proteinuria. And these signs and symptoms reversed after birth. Oxidative stress is the uncontrolled formation of free radicáis that has been associated with several disorders during pregnancy (preeclampsia, abortions and premature rupture of membranes), causing increased sensítivity to vasoconstriction of the endothelium and impairs vasodilatation dependent on it. De esta manera, el estrés oxidativo determina cambios histológicos placentarios en mujeres en etapa gestante, por lo tanto es un factor de riesgo importante para desencadenar la preeclampsia. However it is not considered to oxidative stress as a trigger or initiator of the process. It seems that the fundamental basis of pre-eclampsia is a defect in placentation, the poor adaptation of the initial cell-deciduous miometrial maternal and fetal ovular; would be this bad or low adaptation secondarily causing endothelial cell damage and disruption in the reléase of secretory products that damage the endothelium.
