The Papanicolaou (PAP) has a high degree of effectiveness in the detection of vaginal infections and mainly the diagnoses in early stage of malignancy. The Cancer of Uterine Neck is one of the most frequently cause of mortality in women, pitifully when this illness have very late syntomathologhy when is impossibly treated. The PAP is gratuitous and employee in our means through the Infantile Maternal Universal Insurance (SUMI). The study is a randomized non experimental cross sectional study, with a 392 women in fertile age universe of the Guaqui municipality. Our objectives were: to determine the degree of knowledge, learning source, I number of PAP, in women in fertile age, for group's ages, education degree, civilian state, to identify the causes for those that the women don't go for the taking of sample of PAP in the municipality of Guaqui. Results: of 26 to 35 years, with superior, married education they have good knowledge and the groups with bad knowledge they are women (45 years, of smaller education, illiterate, single 64.28%, (45 years 69.59%, analphabets 77.77%,nunca learned on the pap :de 26 to 35 años 50% they refer to have learned but in the hospital, of 15 to 25 years learned but for the radio primary .con learned but in a club of mothers, with superior studies they learned but in the school, hospital and through the radio 33.33%, and with secondary studies they learned but in the hospital .married and single learned but in a club of mothers then in the hospital, the radio.
