Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a predominant disease of new born, especially of pre-mature of low weight, characterized by necrosis of the mucosa or of deeper layers of the intestine; it is pronounced mainly with abdominal distension, gastrointestinal sangramiento and intestinal nematocyst. With it survives it increased of new born of very low weight, emerges like an important cause of neonative mortality, constituting itself in a doctor-surgical emergency in which the precocious diagnosis and the opportune treat-ment can diminish the necessity of surgery and the lethality. Radiology is very important for the diagnosis as we will see in this case. Etiopatogenia of this disease is not clear but it becomes jumbled prematuridad, isquemia gastrointestinal perinatal, bacterial coloniza-tion of the intestine and precocious enteral feeding with artificial milky formulas. Next we will show a clinical case of Hospital Materno Infantil Germán Urquidit of the city of Cochabamba.
