Objetive: To prove that the belated consultation in patient whir meningitis affect in the prognosis and evolution of the disease methods and materials: Descriptive, Retrospective research, review of 20 child whit meningitis clinical histories, 2002-2003. Place: general Hospital "San Juan de Dios" Oruro, Pedriatic Serve. Results. in 20 Childs, 14 were males (70%) and 6 females (30%). whose ages were between 1 month and 9 years. The time elapse since the begin of disease until the admision moment was 4 and 30 days. Died 5 patients of 20, 25% of mortality, which's complications as: Undernourlshment, endocraneal Hypertension, Septic state, dehydratation y alterations of internal enviroment. Discussion: Even so this disease, even exist a high mortality and surviving whit in the, when the timely and early diagnosis is a important fact to have betters resolution results.
