The arterial hypertension as chronic pathology in Bolivia, has a prevalence of 18,6%: 16% in women and 21% in men and the mortality gets to 30.3% for illnesses of the cardiovasculary system, according to studies carried out in the year 2001. The objective of this prospective study was to carry out the pharmaceutical care in Hypertense ambulatory patients, in the Caja de Salud de Caminos Oruro y R.A in a period of 11 months, from October 2006 to September 2007. The Dader method was used in a total of 22 patients. Of these: 12 were of females and 10 males. The average age of the patients was 61 years old. The problems of health represented 48.49% - 32 of pathologies associated to the Cardiovasculary system, neurological system 21.21% - 14, followed by Illnesses of the Muscle - Skeletal and gastrointestinal System with 12.12% -8 for each one. The Problems related to medicinal drugs had an average of 2 per patient (n=22) and in total they were 44 detected PRMs which 68.18% -30 of those were resolved and 31.81% -14 were not resolved. Of the total of PRMs 54.54%-24 corresponded to PRM1, the 27.27%-12 are of type PRM5, the 9.09%-4 are of type PRM2, the 4.54%-2 correspond to PRM3 and 4.54% -2 it is of type PRM4. This information concludes that the pharmaceutical care in arterial hypertension is a possible practice, able to produce positive results, able to improve the quality of life of the patient and the understanding of its illness for their adhesion to the pharmacological treatment.
