CALLISAYA H., Juan; SARMIENTO, Zulema y CHOQUE C., Hilda. Prevalencia de Portadores Nasales de Staphylococcus aureus en el personal de limpieza del Hospital Obrero. BIOFARBO [online]. 2007, vol.15, n.1, pp. 55-60. ISSN 1813-5363.
Staphylococcus aureus (Sa) he is a frequent agent in infections intrahospitalarias, he is allocated as font of initial colonization to the nasal graves the transmission it can be per aerosols and per interpersonal contact between the hospital personnel staff and the patients. Presently study, the prevalencia of nasal carriers of Sa was determined in the personnel staff of cleanup of the Labor Hospital and the section of sensibility of the isolated strains. The specimens were gathered by nasal swabbing and cultivated in agar it bleeds and incubated at 35ªC by 24-48 hours in normal atmosphere. The identification realized using the tests of: catalasa, coagulasa, manitol and novobiocina. The section of susceptibility was determined by the method of Kirby-Bauer). The portación rate in the 39 studied workers was of 91,6% with the following partitioning: 100% (3/3) in the personnel staff of clean-up of UTI, 75% (3/4) of the personnel staff of Traumatology, 100% (4/4) in the personnel staff of Surgery and 90% (18/36) in the personnel staff of clean-up of other services. The 36 strains had the following submitted percentages: 97% to penicillin, 20% to cotrimoxazole, 5% to erythromycin, 3% to ciprofloxacin, 2% to rifampicin, 2% to gentamicina and there was not submitted to oxacillin and vancomycin. The portación of Sa in the personnel staff of clean-up is very frequent however the meticillin-oxacillin submitted was null. The scrupulous laundry of the hands, the measures prophylaxes, the detection of carriers and the accomplishment of bioseguridad standards are fundamental to avoid the spread of the microorganism in the hospital environment.
