    Resumen

LOPEZ BILBAO LA VIEJA, Ignacio Ramiro et al. Current Perspective of Subclinical Hypothyroidism. SCIENTIFICA [online]. 2020, vol.18, n.1, pp. 1-6. ISSN 1813-0054.

Abstract Subclinical hypothyroidism is defined as the concentration of normal serum free thyroxine, with abnormal increase in thyroid stimulating hormone. The clinical manifestations are practically nil, being a disease, in most cases multifactorial associated with autoimmune or secondary diseases, mainly affecting the development of cardiovascular disease and alteration of the lipid profile in the long term. Based on the aforementioned, the diagnosis is exclusively laboratory-based. In recent years, the management of this disease has been subjected to discussions, suffering modifications in the diagnosis and in the treatment in relation to the limit values of thyroid hormones with respect to physiological and pathological processes; among them age, pregnancy, comorbidities such as type 1 diabetes mellitus or autoimmune thyroid diseases.

Palabras llave : Hypothyroidism; thyroid diseases; thyrotropin; thyroid function tests; thyroxine.
