Abstract Objective: The objective of this study is to estimate the incidence of patients with adverse drug reaction in the Hospital de Clínicas, in order to identify those medical services with the greatest incidence in this regard and to know the extent to which the service of medical health in the Hospital de Clínicas regarding the use of drugs. Patients and methods: Case series study - clinical records of all hospitalized patients were reviewed during the month of April at the Hospital de Clínicas La Paz-Bolivia, retrospectively examining patients at the time of hospitalization. Results: A total of 164 clinical records were reviewed, of which 13 were adverse reactions and in 151 records there was no evidence of adverse drug reaction. Conclusions: It is concluded that reports on adverse drug reactions had a percentage of 7.3% in contrast to the global incidence of adverse effects in Latin America of 19,8%.
