Without any doubt, alcohol has great relevance in human history, commonly associated to social meetings and also warlike conflicts, causing from its abuse, the pharmacodependence well known as alcoholism which has important morbimortality related to its epidemiology. These are some of the reasons health personnel must count on with solid knowledge about alcohol characteristics in the scientific field, therefore the present article was developed, based in well recognized sources about the topic, selecting the information to be used daily by the related personnel. This information must be applied, in the future, to help reaching the main objectives of the health personnel in a personalized way: promote health, prevent disease, health recovery and rehabilitation of patient, in this case, with alcohol-related injury.
