Introduction: Throughout the entire gastrointestinal tract, from the esophagus to the rectum, they can develop a variety of tumors. Gastrointestinal tumors have been increasing in number in recent times. Among the malignant adenocarcinoma class they are more prevalent, and in benign polyps. Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of major gastrointestinal tumors in Bolivia in Cochabamba Japanese gastroenterology institute during the years 2011-2013. Material and methods: The type of cross-sectional descriptive study, on the universe 951 patients who were diagnosed with a tumor during the study time. Results: It was found that malignancies are: gastric polyp tumors with 15.5% (147 patients), intestinal adenoma with 15.9% (151 patients) and intestinal polyp with 21% (200 patients). The average age was 54.5 and diverted 17,924 standard. The frequency of benign tumors was 73.8% (702 patients) and malignant 26.2% (249 patients). Sex is the most affected with 486 female patients for benign tumors and 147 patients for malignant.
