    ABSTRACT The Explanatory Consent as part of the clinic expedient is fundamental for an adequate relation between the physician and the patient, influencing in the complacence of the patient about the attention and treatment received. Objective: To determinate the leve) of conformity in patients to who was applied a Written Explanatory Consent in accordance with the norms in force. Methodology: Study consists in observation of control cases in the Surgery Service of Hospital de Clínicas, La Paz, Bolivia. Data collection of 30 patients divided in two groups: Group 1 (15 patients) application of the Explanatory Consent and inquest; Group 2 (15 patients) application of inquest only. Results: Of the 30 patients: 11 were conformed with the treatment of the Personnel of the Hospital, 14 patients know about the Explanatory Consent, 15 patients have received complete information, 14 think that to have this information during their stay in the Hospital makes it more pleasant. 14 patients think that to have the information improves their relation with the physician and 30 patients think that this information would make them fill more secure about the procedure. Conclusions: The Application of the Explanatory Consent makes fill more secure with the physician, with the surgical procedure and makes them fill more comfortable during their stay in the Hospital.
