    Abstract

    What should be the orientation of the theoretical-practical cognitive content for the teaching and learning of updated industrial maintenance in higher education? To answer this question, theoretical-practical procedures of industrial maintenance are identified, from the totally corrective, through the preventive to the current and predictive maintenance. It turns out that in accordance with the very particular characteristics of industrial companies, and the evolution that the way of proceeding with regard to industrial maintenance is acquiring. The training of human resources must seek that they acquire a positive and reflective attitude in general that places them as subjects of permanent change in relation to the maintenance function and its new ways of being executed, under criteria of effectiveness and efficiency; also knowing the current situation of the industrial company, in which they a working.
