The investigation seeks to determine those elements that can contribute to improving the relationship between the university and industry in Bolivia. For this purpose in a first analysis, the differences between the research environment at universities in Germany, Finland, Japan and Bolivia were examined. Highlighting the characteristics of their education, history and university-industry cooperation on innovation systems of these countries. In a second analysis, the perceptions of classroom professors, and professors in administrative exercise are collected, referring to the topics: the status of the university, academic assessment, and requirements for research. Through a survey conducted in July 2015 (Facultad de Tecnología e Ingeniería, Universidad Mayor de San Andrés UMSA).
