CALLISAYA Q., Yovana  e  SAENZ Y., Claudia N. Effect of the perfusion of lidocaine on the consumption of propofol in total intravenous anesthesia for laparoscopic surgery, in Hospital Obrero N °1 . Cuad. - Hosp. Clín. [online]. 2018, vol.59, n.2, pp. 38-43. ISSN 1652-6776.

Abstract INTRODUCTION: The concept of anesthesia of múltiple sites of action, has as a main objective to reduce the doses of its components and in this way to diminish the collateral effects. Based on the knowledge of the perfusion behavior of intravenous lidocaine, the present investigation intends to evalúate the effect of the transoperative perfusion of lidocaine on the consumption of propofol. METHOD: Controlled, double-blind, randomized clinical study; in 32 patients scheduledforlaparoscopic surgery. Group Lidocaine n = 17 received a bolus of 1mg I Kg of intravenous lidocaine followed by a continuous infusion for a plasma concentration of 3ug / ml. Control Group n=15 ClNa solution at 09%, both groups studied under a standardized intravenous total anesthetic technique (TCl); the propofol concentrations were gradually modified without losing anesthetic plane (BIS 40-60), nor hemodynamic stability. RESULTS: The average consumption of propofol for the experimental group of 0.09 (mg/kg/min) and of the control group of 0.12 (mg/kg/min), value p 0.04, value RR 0.78. CONCLUSION: Ourresults show that non-toxic plasma concentrations of lidocaine reduce the propofol consumption necessary to maintain BIS scores around 50.
