The success of the prevention of the personnel's of health labor risk depends, in great measure, of the degree of application of the universal norms of safety manegement and the government support that it regulates these activities legally. To relate the biological risk and the application of the universal cautions in the direct attention of users hospitalized in the third level of attention, he was carried out this study descriptive correlacional in the city of Cochabamba (Bolivia). The studied population was constituted by a sample conformed for auxiliary and graduates of Infirmary and interna) of Medicine who work in direct contact with the hospitalized user. The present study raises data on the biological risk and the degree of application of the Safety Management norms according to the effective manual in Bolivia. The activities of the norms are studied through the universal cautions in the handling of fluids and bloody corporal, undone, technical fabrics, sterilization and disinfection, personal protection. The observed stockings show insufficient application in seven activities corresponding to the universal cautions, and in all the activities of personal protection of the whole sample, meaning that they increase the risk of infections. In the dispersograms it is evidenced that an inverse relationship exists among the two variables, ending up being explained 12% of the variance of the variable prediction, with regard to the variable approach. These results indicate the necessity of a continuous education in service, on Safety Management measures for the personnel of health.
