Abstract

MENDOZA M., Winsor et al. DESARROLLO DE CARTÍLAGO HUMANO EN PERITONEO DE COBAYOS DE EXPERIMENTACIÓN " SUCRE MAYO - JULIO 2002. Ciencia y Medicina [online]. 2003, n.4, pp. 28-31. ISSN 1111-1111.

The search of new solutions for problems or diseases that affect our population involves the making of the following research work posing the following problem: ¿ Is it possible to develop the human cartilage in guinea pigs peritoneum as a solution for patients with lost of or diseases that involve cartilage? Objectives: To determine the accomplished development of cartilage in a month. To anatomopathologically establish macroscopic and microscopic changes . To verify cartilage viability existence. Hypothesis.- If cartilage development in guinea pigs peritoneum exists and its viability is demonstrated, it will be used as a solution to cartilage illness or lost. The present study is the prospective, observational, descriptive and experimental design made on guinea pigs and whose samples were analyzed in the anatomopathological laboratory. This study is carried out in 6 guinea pigs with similar sex characteristics from 700 to 750 g of which 5 are surgically intervened and to which a cartilage fraction is placed, one of them is used as control. Three guinea pigs survive in the present research and the cartilage development is observed in approximately 7 to 1 cm. wide and 0,9 to 2 cm. long, bging positive our proposed hypothesis according to our research. Anatomopathological test: Diagnosis.- HYALINE, FULLY DEVELOPED, CONSERVED CARTILAGINOUS TISSUE The report indicates viability existence in the cartilage sample. Conclusions.- It is demonstrated that cartilage development in guinea pigs peritoneum is possible, that it develops during one month, three to four times the initial size, and most important, it demonstrates to be a solution to cartilage lost and degenerative or destructive diseases. Recommendations.- If economical nor material resources are available, specialists are recommended to verify and apply this cartilage as a solution to cartilage lost or diseases. In order to obtain bigger benefits and more convincing conclusions, there must be evaluation and research on more and other experimentation animals.
