TORO MISERICORDIA, Denis Mijail et al. ESTUDIO EXPERIMENTAL DEL TIEMPO DE REABSORCIÓN DEL HEMOPERITONEO INDUCIDO EN CONEJOS EN EL LABORATORIO DEL HOSPITAL SETON DURANTE JULIO 2002.. Ciencia y Medicina [online]. 2003, n.4, pp. 3-6. ISSN 1111-1111.
The non surgical handling, accepted and valid nowadays, of the closed abdominal trauma with solid viscera injury and haemoperitoneum presence is based on its re-absorption by the diaphragmatic peritoneum lymphatics in haemodinamic stable patients. An experimental study was made in rabbits valuating the re-absorption time of the haemoperitoneum This was possible through a mini laparotomy which caused a level II shock due to the collection of blood by a 25 ml femoral vein puncture which represents approximately 25% of the rabbit's volemi?. After 48 hours an ultrasonographic control and a following laparotomy were performed in group I with a re-absorption of 72.4%. After 72 hours, group II with a re-absorption of 96.4% and group III at 96-100 hours with 98.8%, observing that the results obtained from the ultrasound reporting about the presence or absence of free liquid in the peritoneal cavity are compared to the results in exploratory laparotomy, being 98.8% the haemoperitoneum re-absorption in around 4 days.
