This paper analyzes the cultural transformation from life to death expressed in material aspects of mortuary practices in two important sites of the Late Formative, zuhich, because of their different social nature, constitute a key scenario for observing the persistence of ancestor zuorship in changing social scenarios. Khonkho Wankane and Iruhito zuere integrated by the concept of immortality, zuhich probably constituted an important link that conditioned the interactions between them, and zuith a much zuider landscape.
