As a starting point and based on the experience ofthe researcher, this document addresses some ofthe issues that have to do with the implementation of research/evaluation methodologies, in diverse cultural contexts and in accordance with development policies: Paradigms, the intercultural and the ethics. Following the previous discussion, it is illustrated with examples that some methodologies, theories or concepts that comefrom ^“western" development paradigms do notfit into other paradigms of culturally different societies. As a closure, suggestions are made to strengthen a pluralistic and transformative perspective of evaluation, emphasizing reflective and dialogical methodologies more in line with intercultural contexts.
