ANTEZANA SORIA, Elsa Valeria. Ceramic consumption patterns at Casa Sarabia during Colonial and Republican times. Textos Antropológicos [online]. 2016, vol.17, n.1, pp. 69-91. ISSN 1025-3181.
The scanty research of Historical Archaeology in Bolivia renders only general and exploratory results. This paper examines the consumption patterns of local and imported pottery of Casa Sarabia inhabitants, during the Colonial, and early Republican periods. The results alloza us to distinguish between the owners' high-status consumption type, associated to imported pottery, majolica and local glassed wares, and a servants' consumption type associated to red ivares. Also, a systematic study of local historical pottery identifies a persistence of pre-hispanic technology and iconography, which suggests the a resístame from local potters defending their own traditions against the imposition offoreign tendencies.
