The present article ispart ofa chapter ofa broader investigation, in which I demónstrate from a critic perspective, the different ways through which the concept ofsymptom is understood. Towards this end, differentpositions are presented: the medicáis, the psychiatric, the anti-psychiatric, the psychoanalytical, the psychological, etc. Moreover, the emerging necessity ofanalyzing the symptom ofunderstanding the sociohistorical context is presented, that is, ofbearing in mind in an explicit way, the social and cultural conceptions that underlie in a cultural perspective that influences, in its turn, in a direct manner in the so called scientific disciplines, ofhow the phenomena such as the health and the sickness are interpreted. The "curious " resemblance between what is known as symptomatic in the so called scientific disciplines with what determines the moral norms and the hegemonic ideologies in a particular moment oftheir history. However, and paradoxically this moralizing attitude tries to legitímate itselffrom the scholarly bodies. All ofthe universe that comprehends the phenomenon: health-sickness, has deep roots in the different conceptions ofwhat the human nature is. Therefore, a possibility is open to question this fundamental aspect of the Ufe of men, starting from the anthropology.
