CHALCO, Vania Virginia and MAMANI SANCHEZ, Beatriz. Morphological description and in vitro germination of añahuaya (Adesmia miraflorensis Remy) in two culture media. Apthapi [online]. 2022, vol.8, n.3, pp. 01-09. ISSN 0102-0304.
ABSTRACT:Adesmia miraflorensis Remy, better known as añahuaya, ayacaulli or añawi, which is a native species that is of great biological importance, but with each agricultural management the populations are reduced due to the expansion of the agricultural frontier. So far there is no information regarding the in vitro propagation of this species. The present study determined the germination percentage and the morphological description of the germination process until the formation of the seedling under in vitro conditions. In this way, provide information that can be used in propagation, conservation and revegetation projects for this species. The previously disinfected seeds were sown in two different culture media that are Chu et al. (1975) and MS (Musashige and Skoog, 1962), for each culture medium there were 250 repetitions. After 15 days, the seeds of A. miraflorensis Remy presented a high percentage of germination in both media, in Chu et al. 97% and in MS 92% germination. According to the morphological description, 4 stages were characterized and it was observed that many individuals do not exceed stage 3 (E-3), reaching Chu et al. with 23% and MS 10%. Regarding the morphometric measurements, the seeds had a diameter of 1.16 mm and a length of 3.35 mm.
