    ABSTRACT: Urban agriculture is a practicethat proposes the production of food within and on theoutskirts of cities, takingadvantage of housing spaces and domestic vegetable waste. The global urbanization process concentrates more people in cities, which has repercussions on the need to satisfy many of the population's needs. The concepts of urban agriculture, sustainable city and healthy city are increasingly being developed in academia, and this paper is therefore a review of the literature on the social, economic and environmental contributions of urban agriculture to the construction of a sustainable and healthy city. In this way, the results obtained made it possible to know the state of the art in conceptual terms on this topic
