    Abstract

    ABSTRACT: The objective ofthis workwasto evalúate the reproductive and productive efficiency of the dairy cattle of the Carrera de Medina Veterinaria Y Zootecnia de Tupiza. The records of reproductive and productive events of the 2004 and 2005 administrations were used as a study unit; this evaluation was carried out by comparing means for the two groups. The variables used to measure reproductive efficiency were: Delivery-Delivery Interval, Open Period, Number of Services / Cow, and the variables used to measure productive efficiency were: Quantity of Milk Produced and Duration of lactation. The average duration of the Labor-Delivery Interval in the 2004 administration was 405 days and in the 2005 administration it was 396 days; the Open Period, in 2004 management was 125 days and in 2005 management was 115 days; Number of Services / Cow, in 2004 management was 1.71 and in 2005 management was 1.38; Quantity of Milk Produced/Cow, in the 2004 management was 2793 liters and in the 2005 management it was 3303 liters and the duration of the average lactation, in the 2004 management it was 335 days and in the 2005 management it was 313 days. It was determined that the Delivery-Delivery Interval, Open Period and Lactation Duration are prolonged, the Milk Production per Lactation is low, and the Number of Services / Cow is optimal.
