Effect of copper sulfate and sodium hypochlorite on the control of algal flowering and LD50 in Tambaqui fingerlings (Piaractus brachypomus) in the La Jota área of the municipality of Chimore. ABSTRACT: F¡sh farming in Bolivia is an activity that is constantly growing in the tropical sectors. Fish farming has múltiple factors that prevent its development, including the proliferation of harmful algae of different types. The present work aimed to determine the effect of copper sulfate (0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9 g/m3) and sodium hypochlorite (0, 25, 50, 100, 125, 150 |jl/l) on algal bloom and LD50 in fry of Tambaqui (Piaractus brachypomus). It was developed in two randomized block designs, one for copper sulfate and one for sodium hypochlorite. The binary response variable survival or algae mortality was processed with the generalized linear model underthe binomial distribution. The occurrence of the juvenile mortality was processed with the PROBIT regression model and the lethal dose LD50 was estimated. Among the results, the algae were identified as blood Euglena as the main cause of algal flowering, determining that copper sulfate eliminates 95% of the algae at a concentration of 0.7883 g/m3 and in lethal dose LD50 at a concentration of 0.81 g/m3 at 48 hours and at 72 - 96 hours was 0.5999 g/m3. Algae mortality because of sodium hypochlorite was at a concentration of 100 and 150 |jl/l, the máximum mortality was 67.9 %. The lethal dose LD50 was 12,491 |jl/l. Note in 80 minutes the mortality because of sodium hypochlorite was recorded, and it isconsidered as harmful to the fry of Tambaqui and Nobel for the control of algae.
