ABSTRACT: Wetlands were evaluated in different communities of the Municipality of Huarina (Dept. La Paz), with the objective of assessing the composition and richness of macroinvertebrates and determining their ecological quality (BMWP/Bol Índex) and physicochemical parameters of water were also considered, the community of macrophytes, the number of snails and the prevalence of parasitosis in these, to understand what factors could explain the abundance of snails. Sampling was carried out in the dry season (May, June, July), twenty-four wetlands were chosen, where 18 families distributed in 13 orders were identified, the most representative order is Díptera with four families, according to the BMWP/Bol Índex that we water quality indicates that 60% of wetlands have VERY CRITICAL quality and 40% CRITICAL quality, when grouping the different types of wetlands it was found that the type "rivers" has the highest valué of wealth but also among these groups of wetlands there is no difference between macroinvertebrate composition. On the other hand, a macroinvertebrate analysis with physicochemical parameters and the macrophyte community was performed, where group 2 has a greater diversity of macrophytes, a greater number of macroinvertebrate families, the amounts of chlorides, calcium carbonate and pH are low. Finally, when performing the relationship of macroinvertebrates with the presence of snails and their prevalence of parasites, it was found that there is no relationship between them. With the data obtained, no relationship was found on the number of snails and their prevalence of parasites, specific studies are suggested.
