CHOQUE TARQUI, Carlos Eduardo. Spatial modeling for the evaluation of soil fertility, Experimental Station Sapecho. Apthapi [online]. 2018, vol.4, n.2, pp. 1244-1249. ISSN 0102-0304.
Abstract: The present work done for the site of the Sapecho Experimental Station, municipality of Palos Blancos. In the same study the fertility of the soils is evaluated, in terms of the spatial variability of the physical and chemical parameters, the parameters studied were: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Cationic Interchange Capacity CIC , soil pH reaction, organic matter MO, texture, bulk density, porosity and infiltration. Twenty-nine sub-surface samples of 0-50 cm depth were taken, they were analyzed in the laboratory. For the processing of cartographic information software was used in Geographic Information Systems GIS (Arc Gis 10.3), through their different geo-tools layers were created. The spatial distribution of each physical and chemical element of the soil has been elaborated by interpolation procedure IDW (inverse distance weighting) method of interpolation that estimates the values of thecells by calculating averages of the values of the sample data points inthe vicinity of each processing cell. Prior to creating the layers each parameter has been evaluated and statistically analyzed, each of them independently has a numerical range according to their units, they were then normalized, to subsequently apply a spatial model by the AHP hierarchical analysis process, developed by Thomas L. Saaty (The Analytic Hieraarchy process, 1980). The methodology followed consists of; the collection of secondary information, then the recognition of the place where the plots are collected and the edaphological survey, finally as a third stage consists of the processing of the information layer operation to later edit them in cartographic (agrological maps). The evaluation of soil fertility is categorized into five scales that according to Riquier-Bramao-Cornet (1970) considers the score of the parameters between 0 to 100, it is clear that this system considers other factors for its evaluation, however this scale is very appropriate in this study for the way of separating the scores, which in the hierarchical model launches in the same range. The results found were 40% of soils with low fertility, 35% medium fertility and 25% high fertility.
