CONDORI GUTIERREZ, Sandy; CORTEZ TORREZ, José Antonio  and  RAMIREZ AJORURO, Edwin Gerardo. Determination of production costs of potato culture (Solanum tuberosum l.) in the municipality of Achacachi, province Omasuyos. Apthapi [online]. 2018, vol.4, n.2, pp. 1107-1118. ISSN 0102-0304.

Abstract:                  This paper describes the results of the research on the production costs of the potato crop (Solanum tuberosum L.) in the municipality of Achacachi, Omasuyos province, the work was carried out in 6 of the 11 cantons of the municipality of Achacachi in the campaign 2016 - 2017, we worked with a total of 2333 families in 62 communities, with the collaboration of the mayor of Achacachi Lic. Edgar Ramos Laura, who provided assistance through the Agricultural Director with whom meetings with the cantonal and communal authorities were coordinated who was informed about the work, the scope, confidentiality and the use that would be given to the work. Three variables were proposed which would be useful to know the state of the families, the production and the costs that generate the crop. The results obtained were as follows: a) Social Variables: It was observed that families are composed of 5 individuals over 14 years old on average, mostly male population with 50.94% of the total population, the main economic activity is agriculture with 62.10% of income generation, followed by livestock with 31.76%; in migration it was determined that of the 5 members 3 remain in the community and 2 emigrate outside; in commercialization it was observed that the commercialization forms were by intermediaries (35.76%), collectors (24.92%) and directly to the consumer (39.32%) of the production destined to commercialization. b) Productive Variables: The area destined for the cultivation of potatoes in the campaign was 2.81 Ha on average per family, representing 47.38% of the total agricultural area of the families, which is 5.93 Ha on average; amount of seed used was 2.02 Tn / Ha on average, the yield was 6.5 Tn / Ha compared to the 2013 agricultural census of 4.7 Tn / Ha, increased 1.8 Tn more until this campaign attributable to the good management and technology. c) Economic Variables: The production costs were Bs / Ha 14621.18 on average, the income generated by the sale was Bs / Ha 18967.53 and the B/C ratio showed that Bs 1.00 invested has a gain of Bs 0.30, showing that potato production is profitable for producing families.
