    Resumen

CHILON CAMACHO, Eduardo. "Green Revolution" Agriculture and land, contributions and controversies. Apthapi [online]. 2017, vol.3, n.3, pp. 844-859. ISSN 0102-0304.

During the middle of this century, in most of the world, the transition to an agricultural system based on "positivist science" was initiated, based on a modern technology of the use of artificial chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, hybrid seeds. And heavy agricultural machinery, which was called "green revolution", created in the developed hegemonic countries, who established that its implementation was essential in developing countries, to get out of poverty. However, after 30 years, its effects are disastrous, due to its incidence in the degradation of soils and in the pollution of the environment. This situation forces us to look at our own ancestral history, synergic knowledge and agroecology, where we can find alternative solutions to the agricultural problems of present-day Bolivia and the world

Palabras llave : Green revolution; modern agricultural production; Fertility and chemical fertilizers; ancestral agricultural production; rural and sustainable development; Agroecology.
