Abstract:                    Different substrates were evaluated for obtaining burdock seedlings from seeds; the substrates used were commercial substrate Bioplant, sand, gallinaza and soil of the place distributed in eight treatments. With the characteristics observed in obtaining burdock seedlings none of the treatments had a significant influence in relation to the dry matter of the aerial part with the dry matter of the root and the quality Índex of Dickson; only in relation to the height of the aerial part with the diameterof the neck the substrate the treatment of Bioplant + gallinaza + sand presented influence among the others for the balanced development of the root and the aerial part.
