Abstract
MIRANDA, Roberto; CABALLERO, Aylin; CADENA, Freddy and BOSQUE, Hugo. Salinidad y el cultivo de la quinua - una breve revisión bibliográfica.. Apthapi [online]. 2017, vol.3, n.1, pp. 87-92. ISSN 0102-0304.
The soils present in their composition a series of compounds with different degrees of solubility. Soluble salts are generally associated with the presence of sodium, which may accumulate in the soil due to irrigation water. With increasing temperatures, evapotranspiration rates are also expected to increase (Motavalli et al., 2013) and thus the accumulation of salts on the soil. In this sense it is necessary to take into account plants that have a high development potential in these conditions. Quinoa presents a great genetic variability, which determines its great capacity to adapt to different conditions such as salinity, a quality that can be exploited for its cultivation in these environments, however, as any plant, in its first phenological states, its Development is affected by the presence of salts, as evidenced by numerous studies. In spite of this, it is necessary to have information and research to identify the most tolerant varieties to salinity as well as their adaptation mechanisms.
