Abstract
SERRANO CORONEL, Genaro et al. Analysis of technical alternatives in the construction of the water reservoir for sprinkler irrigation at the Cota Cota Experimental Center-UMSA.. Apthapi [online]. 2017, vol.3, n.1, pp. 78-86. ISSN 0102-0304.
The analysis of technical alternatives for the construction of the water reservoir was raised as part of the project "Implementation of pressurized irrigation at the CotaCota Experimental Center(CECC)". In principie, it includes the location of the water reservoir in relation to the height at which the hydrants of the irrigation plots are located, having chosen the site located at 3448 m.s.n.m. As appropriate to supply the required hydraulic load (35 m), according to the service pressure required by medium pressure sprinklers, ranging from 20 to 50 m height variation. Regarding the shape was chosen the elongated truncated pyramid (3rd alternative) with respect to the truncated cone (1st alternative) and square pyramid (2nd alternative). After analyzing the surfaces of evaporation and infiltration in the three alternatives, the third alternative is chosen despite increasing the evaporating surface by 5.5 m2 with respect to the 2nd alternative. The choice of the third alternative was mainly due to the ease of excavation and length of geomembrane width (7 m) available in the market, avoiding the bonding (joined) by thermofusion.
