Abstract
CHOQUE SANCHEZ, Daniel Severo and AYALA VARGAS, Celso. Comparison of three methods of diagnosis of burning pregnancy (Lama glama) of the Experimental Station Choquenaira. Apthapi [online]. 2017, vol.3, n.1, pp. 1-10. ISSN 0102-0304.
This present research was carried out from Experimental Center of Choquenaira located to 3870 m.s.n.m. (meters above sea) from Major San Andrés University of La Paz- Bolivia. It was compared three methods for the diagnostic about pregnancy in llamas. For this; it was worked with a system of controlled mating with an average weight of female llamas of 81, 4 kg. The evaluated methods in this task were: the sexual behavior of female, determination of levéis of progesterone under of the technique of chemoluminescence and the ultrasound. It was working with 15 female llamas and 3ecotype Q'ara males. The pregnancy's evaluation was determined after 15 days from the first service with an interval of 15 days for the second and third service; reaching an average of 2.26±4 turns, the average time of mating was 18.1±30 minutes. With the methods of female's sexual behavior and ultrasound; it was gotten 83 % of pregnancy, in comparison with the levéis of progesterone which was obtained 93% of gestation. It was made a proof of chi-squared, it can demónstrate that there are not significant differences (P>0.05), between the different managed methods in this current work of research in order to detect the pregnancy. It means the three techniques are statistically similar and efficient for the detection of gestation in female llamas. The percentage of birth rate was 93% in an average time of 358 days, the weight of newborns was 12, 5± 13, 8 kg.
